Hey it's Keith Kravitz,
It's now Sept. and this is when the Grand Canyon tour season really takes off! Folks ask me if there's a better (and cheaper) day to fly and in all honesty there isn't. Every day is
equal.
Keep that in mind as you consider booking your flight and make absolutely sure you RSVP. Failure to do so could result in you not getting the flight you want at the best price.
SUNSET
One tour that's getting a lot of attention is the sunset tour from Las Vegas. These are super limited because they depart once a day. They go over all the key landmarks and land at the bottom. It's the fly back that's at dusk and you'll be taking a tour over the Vegas Strip as the lights turn
on.
LAS VEGAS
The air-only flight from Vegas is ideal for travelers on a tight budget or who have limited time. The follow the standard flight path and include terrific views of the National Park. There are two versions. The basic, which is cheapest, and the
deluxe, which is more expenisve.
SOUTH RIM
Hands down the best South Rim flight is the 50-minute deluxe. This terrific tour flies over the South Rim, East Rim, North Rim and back. In all, you'll have see up to 75 percent of the Canyon. That's no small feat considering it takes upwards of 5 hours to get to the North Rim from the South Rim by car!
PLANE
Helicopters don't fly to the South Rim from Las Vegas. You have to take the plane. Not a bad idea when you consider it takes up to 5.5 hours simply to drive to the Rim from Vegas. Me, I say "skip that!" The basic version of the tour includes a 2.5-hour bus tour. The deluxe version includes a helicopter ride and a bus tour. Take your pick. You
can't go wrong.
