Keith Kravitz' Grand Canyon Tours
This Week's Hot Tours...
Hey it's Keith Kravitz and here's a list of what's hot when it comes to Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas & South Rim...
Sunset Flights
It's now that time of the year when Grand Canyon sunset are all the rage. Add in Vegas at dusk and you'll understand why sunset tours are some of the most sought-after tours from The Strip.. Especially with folks celebrating an anniversary, birthday, proposal, promotion and more. Just keep in mind that these tours are very limited and depart once a day so it's first come, first served. Now having said that, I strongly recommend NEVER booking a sunset tour 48 hours prior to doing it. It will be sold out. Sure, I know there are some disbelievers out there but folks I'm telling you this is the one where demand clearly outstrips supply. Learn more...
See All, Do All!
When it comes to picking a helicopter tour, you have to really focus on what you want the most. If it's all about the Grand Canyon, then you have to give the 4-in-1 tour consideration. This is the only package of its kind that lands on the bottom, lets you ride a boat on the Colorado River, flies to the top and comes with VIP passes to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. It all comes to a masterful conclusion by giving you up to 2 hours to explore the top of the West Rim. Price includes a snack pack and if you're still famished there's a couple of food joints in the Skywalk complex. When it's all said and done, this is the tour that delivers more Canyon than you can handle, which is a good thing! Read more...
Vegas to South Rim
There is no such thing as a helicopter tour that starts in Las Vegas and flies to the South Rim of the National Park. Just doesn't exist and this will not change in the foreseeable future (unless the range on helicopters is significantly extended!). But there's a great option that will get you to the South and it's the Vegas-South Rim express by plane. The flight departs Sin City 3x a day or more and gets you to the South in a measly 60 minutes. Now that's fast. Especially when compared to a bus or a rental car that takes 5.5 hours to reach the South. Moreover, you can add a 30-minute helicopter ride to the mix and there you are! Cancel Your Tour?
There are lots of companies offering canyon tours with TERRIBLE cancellation policies. I mean just dread awful. From your perspective, how are you supposed to book in advance and save loads of money if the cancellation policy is a nightmare? I couldn't agree more. And that's why you need a policy that lets you book a tour as far in advance as possible (this is so important for our foreign guests!) because life happens. Be it a missed connecting flight. And unexpected family emergency. Or a work-related commitment. We get it. And that's why I think we put together a policy that accommodates travelers the best. Read more...
#1 South Rim Ride
There are a handful of South Rim tours from which to choose. All are good. I've done them all. But there's a time and a place for each. However, if you're looking for the best overall experience, I'm going to recommend the 50-minute no-landing flyover tour. Nothing compares. It starts at the South Rim, goes to East Rim, turn to the North Rim, cruises the edge of the North Rim and then makes it back to the South. By the time you deplane, you'll have see up to 75 percent of the National Park. That's quite an accomplishment when you consider the fact that you just did it all in under one hour! Learn more...
Champagne Picnic - 3x Options
This is the bottom-landing tour that made Vegas the king of canyon tours! It starts out from the City, skirts Lake Mead, hovers over Hoover Dam, then beelines east in a 3,500-foot descent to the base of the Canyon's mighty walls and lands. Here you step out and onto some of Earth's oldest exposed crust before walking to the covered picnic area. Underneath the ramada (fancy term for a covered area), you'll sip bubbles and luxuriate in the fact that you and less than 5 percent of the millions of people who visit the Canyon each year make it to the bottom. That's a pretty elite group. Is this the trip for you? Or the two options that are associated with it? Find out. Read more...
No-Landing EcoStar 130 Deluxe
Looking for a quick fast sample of the Canyon that takes off from the Vegas Strip? You got it. This power-packed tour lifts off right from Las Vegas Boulevard and follows the usual flight line (Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Colorado River, Grand Cliffs Wash the rest of the West Rim highlights), but does it, well, in style. For starters you get picked up and dropped off in a black stretch limousine. Nice touch if you're entertaining clients or doing a bachlorette or impressing the significant other in your life. You'll also be doing the tour in an EcoStar 130, which is the newer helicopter. It comes with a 180-degree wrap window and theater-style bucket seats and incredible climate control (you'll want this when it's super hot outside). Learn more...
