Keith Kravitz' Grand Canyon Tours
This Week's Hot Tours...
Hey it's Keith Kravitz and here's a list of what's hot when it comes to Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas & South Rim...
Sunset Tours
Nothing beats the Canyon at sunset. Travelers describe the light as "magical," "sublime" and "miraculous." I agree, especially when you're at the bottom next to the Colorado River sipping Champagne and enjoying a background of sounds straight out of prehistoric times. Keep in mind that sunset tours leave once a day and are extremely limited so you’ve got to book them early. Learn more...
Elite Tours
There are two kinds of helicopter tours: Basic and deluxe. If you've got the budget, you decidedly want to purchase the later. Couple of things make deluxe stand apart. First, you get picked up at your Vegas hotel in a limousine. Second, you fly aboard an EC-130. And third, you get an extended tour over the Las Vegas Strip. Read more...
Bottom Landing Picnic
You can fly over the canyon, land on top or go to the bottom. The descent you make is about 3,500 feet and as you do it you follow the Colorado River, which snakes through the Canyon like it has for 6 million years. Exit the aircraft and you're standing on rock that's more than 1.8 billion years old! Learn more...
Top 3 South Rim
Travelers refer to the South Rim as the Grand Canyon or Tusayan or "the rim nearest Flagstaff." Everyone's right. And it's one of the most fantastic places from which to do a helicopter ride. There's a handful of options from which to choose but to my mind there's three that really deserve your attention because they are priced right and the experience is second to none. Read more...

Pesky Fees!
Our prices are all-inclusive, fixed and final. Except if you want to do a front seat upgrade or weigh more than 299 pounds. Incur either of these and you'll pay a surcharge. In the case of front seats, it's more of a request and that if it's available at check in you'll be billed. For weight, there's no way around it unless you're taking a South Rim tour. Learn more...
Landing or Flyover?
There are two kinds of helicopter tours: Landing and flyover. In Vegas, both follow the same flight path over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Colorado River and the Canyon. The flyover, however, will turn tail and head back to LV. Landing tours, by contrast, head to the bottom for a Champagne celebration or to the top for a walk on the all-glass Skywalk. The hard part is deciding which type of tour is for you. Read more...
South Rim Plane (Fast!)
It's a fact that Las Vegas helicopters are not able to fly direct to the South Rim. The reason is simple: the South Rim is too far. One solution is to drive but be prepared to spend 5.5 hours behind the wheel getting there. Then you've got to get back! My suggestion is to take the non-stop plane from LV to the SR. Takes all of 60 minutes and then you're there transferring to a helicopter for a flight through the incredible Dragoon Corridor! Learn more...
Basic Flyover
What's the Vegas tour that requires the least amount of time? The basic flyover. Which means it's great for folks who are attending conventions or celebrating special moments or who simply want to do the Canyon on a whim. These flights are also the cheapest option so they are extremely popular with budget travelers who want to get airborne. And because they are so popular, they sell out. Fast. If this is the tour for you, jump on it. Read more...
