Keith Kravitz' Grand Canyon Tours
This Week's Hot Tours...
Hey it's Keith Kravitz and here's a list of what's hot when it comes to Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas & South Rim...
Las Vegas Helicopters
Fall and winter are great times to take a helicopter tour. The air is fresh and clear and visibility tends to be incredible (less dust and soot from summer forest fires is one cause). Be aware that the end of the year is when all the big conventions come into Vegas and many of those folks plan to get airborne. Moral of the story: book in advance to get the tour that best meets your needs. Details here...
South Rim Helicopters
The temperature takes a big dip down here at the South Rim and that's because it’s at an elevation of 7K feet! Fall, however, is mild compared to what travelers deal with back east and you'd be surprised how many people show up in a hoodie and pants before the flight. That all changes in winter when there’s snow on the canyon and ice on the ground so bundle up. Read more...
Weight Limits
Is there a weight limit when it comes to helicopter rides? Yes and no. The reason I'm being vague is that technically, we'll figure out a way to fly anybody regardless of weight because helicopters are pretty powerful machines and we’ve seen every scenario known to man. However, there's a tricky little surcharge that comes with it and there's no way to get around it. Details here...
Warning: Viator
Too many travelers have been stopping by Live Chat with prices that so ridiculously low that they scream “read the find print please!” Which means they've dropped by Viator and got sucked into some crazy deal that has a gazillon strings attached. I've spent time going over the pitfalls with these duped travelers until I'm blue in the face so I wrote this blog post. It highlights the key stuff and if you need more assistance see me in Chat. Details here...
Best Flight Times
When to fly changes with the seasons. As we head into winter and fall, you want to avoid the first flight of the day as you'll lift off in the dark and fly with the sun in your face. Not fun. Of course, the best times will run you a bit more in terms of cost but they're worth the extra expense in my opinion (same goes for sunset times).  Details here...
4-in-1 Helicopter Ride
Want to see it all and do it all? Then you want what I call the MEGA tour. It's only available out of Las Vegas and it's a BEAST! It goes to the bottom and lands and includes a boat ride down the majestic Colorado River. Then it flies to the top and lands and you stroll the all-glass Skywalk. There's even additional time to explore Eagle and Guano Points! Read more...
South Rim 50-Minutes
How do you see up to 75 percent of the National Park in less than 1 hr.? Take a the South Rim 50 minute tour. This tour goes South Rim, East Rim, North Rim and back and includes going through the Dragoon Corridor (widest and deepest section) and over the raging Colorado River Confluence. While over the North Rim, see if you can spot herds of roaming wild buffalo! Details here...
Skywalk: The Facts
There's a lot of hoopla surrounding the Grand Canyon Skywalk. A lot of it true. Some of it patently false. True is the fact that you get to walk up to 75 feet over the edge until you are standing appx. 4K feet over the bottom. That, my friends is a mind-blower. True, too, is the incredible view of Eagle Point. I could go on but I'll let this brief article do all the talking. Read more...
